First of all, I love the look of this lamp. It feels fairly sturdy, nice quality. But the bulb, which can only be a 40Watt candelabra base, gets hot to the touch. There is also nothing to diffuse the light so if you are sitting on floor (or have pets) it will blind you/them. It is more for show and decoration than actual use, I think. Also it's more grey than green and there is no gold tint on top of the shade. sadly I had to return as I wanted to use this lamp everyday
