The box arrived pretty beat up, but when I opened it everything looked ok. So I began assembling the legs & table, leaving the shade until the final step. The shade was very well wrapped in cellophane and I didn't unwrap it until the whole lamp was assembled. Unfortunately, the shade had been pretty beat up, as you can see in one of the photos. I didn't want to have to take the whole lamp apart (took an hour+ for me to assemble, as I'm pretty slow at things) so I asked Amazon if I could just return the shade. Amazon's Customer Service said they would send me an entirely new lamp, and I could just take the new shade out, replace it with the damaged shade, and return it to Amazon for free. Brilliant! The new lamp arrived 2 days later and the shade was perfect. So I printed out Amazon's return shipment label and took it to my nearest UPS facility and they took care of it. As for the lamp itself, I love it! Lots of my friends comment on it. I'm decorating with copper accessories and I thought the brass might not look good with copper, but they look really cool together. I love that the on/off feature is with the two pull chains; I don't really care for floor lamps that turn on with a floor button on the cord. Speaking of the cord, it is a light tan color, which will work for lighter colored floors, and unfortunately I have a very dark floor. That's the only complaint I might have. I like that it has two bulbs so I can make the light softer with one bulb on, or brighter with both bulbs on (see 2 photos). The glass table is big enough to hold a book, a drink, and my glasses, but small enough to not take up a lot of space. I'm thrilled with the look and the functionality.
