I am editing my original review. the original is in []. I am changing to a three star review, because of the mounting hardware only. Otherwise it would be a 4+ review as it does exactly what I wanted. I used 1/4" pop rivets, ignored the holes provided and created a drill pattern that matched, i. e. avoided the builtin braces in the tailgate. Jacknuts would probably work as well, but would need to beordered to get heavy duty ones. [1When I get it mounted, it looks like it will be fine. Heavy enough to give me the extra shelf I need when1 getting ready to shoot Trap or Skeet. I picked this unit because it does not have cable supports or anything else that will obstruct either end, i.e., will hold items longer than the shelf itself. The problem is the mounting hardware and the pictures that are part of the instructions. The written instructions are fine, but the pictures are misleading and do not account for the internal bracing of the tailgate. Try to mount it like they have it pictured and your drill bit hits the brace (which is essentially a piece of angle iron) and the bit deflects. The second problem is the hardware to mount. The "nutserts" are not knurled. Drill the 11/32 hole suggested and they turn. Out of multiple attempts, I was able to get one to hold. Expanding inserts are problematic at best but at least they could have sent ones that were knurled and would grip the insert. Again, I think this will work, but the company needs to completely re-visit the mounting hardware and clean up their instructions.]
